The Course Overview
Our IELTS Preparation Course is designed to help you develop the skills and strategies needed to achieve your desired score. The course covers all four components of the IELTS test: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Below are a brief description of what you will learn for each skill:
Writing
- Develop their grammatical range, accuracy and lexical resource
- Analyse the language and essay structure of sample answers
- Develop students ability to select key information to form the basis of the essential element in their response
- Develop arguments: By analysing the use of cohesive devices in two different ways to balance an argument
- Develop paragraphs by building cohesive sentences to form fully coherent paragraphs.
Reading
- Be familiarised with the types of features and characteristics that they could be asked to look for in a text
- Develop an understanding of what is expected in the General Training Test. Students will do activities to familiarise themselves with the format
- Develop reading skills - students will be introduced to sub-skills of reading that are essential for the IELTS reading test. These exercises allow students to practise the skills of surveying , skimming and scanning.
Listening
- Develop preparation strategies to be ready to listen and identify answers when the audio starts
- Gain an understanding of the type of instructions they can find in different question types
- Develop note taking strategies
Speaking
- Develop an understanding of potential topics for the test and the vocabulary that may be required
- Develop Fluency and coherence
- Develop a wide range of both grammar and vocabulary
- Practice speaking by answering different questions and receiving feedback from the Teacher.

Prerequisite
To enrol in this IELTS preparation course in Bali, you must have a minimum English proficiency level of Intermediate (B1) or have completed at least Elementary 2 (A2) at JB English. Please check our proficiency levels here.
Prices and How to Book
For our IELTS Preparation course, you will study with an experienced native English speaker to mimic a real test scenario. This is especially true for your speaking test as you will be interviewed by a native English speaker in person. Our course package starts at 15 hours, and you can always extend your course if you need to. You will have a mock test at the end of your course to see how you progress.
